Biography
A career inspired by the courtroom.
Attorney Wendi J. Wade is proud to begin a new chapter in her legal career by continuing the long-standing tradition of personal and compassionate legal service established by Deborah S. Loos P.C. in the Belvidere community. Attorney Wade and her husband, Dr. Kenneth Wade, have five children and three grandchildren, with their youngest attending school in Belvidere.
From court reporting to advocacy
For Attorney Wade, becoming an attorney was a decision inspired by years spent inside the courtroom. She began her career in the legal field through court reporting, attending court reporting school and then working for nine years in electronic court reporting at the Winnebago County Courthouse. After watching trials unfold and observing attorneys advocate for their clients, Wendi realized she wanted to move from recording what happened in the courtroom to standing beside clients and advocating for them.
Education and a broad legal background
Attorney Wade earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield, graduating summa cum laude, and her law degree from Northern Illinois University College of Law, graduating cum laude. She began her career in litigation in Rockford before serving as in-house counsel for a pharmaceutical benefit management company. Eventually, her ties to Boone County drew her back to the courtroom when she accepted a position with the Boone County Public Defender’s Office.
A commitment to listening, preparation and advocacy
Of the experiences throughout her career, Attorney Wade is especially proud of the work she performed on behalf of clients in the Public Defender’s Office. She has a particular passion for representing the underdog and believes every client deserves an attorney who will listen carefully, investigate thoroughly and advocate for the best possible outcome based on the facts and the law.
Serving clients from across the community
Attorney Wade’s practice includes estate planning, wills, trusts, probate and estate administration, criminal defense, DUI, real estate, family law, bankruptcy and employment law. She welcomes clients from throughout the community and from all backgrounds, including individuals who do not speak English. Attorney Wade believes that language, disability or an accessibility need should never prevent someone from receiving respectful, compassionate and competent legal guidance.
For Wendi, practicing law is not simply about resolving a legal issue. It is about helping people plan for the future and advocating for them during stressful, uncertain or life-changing situations.
